Book haul!

The other day, my brother and I went to lunch on Main Street, and I absolutely had to stop at my favorite local bookstore.

Where I found these:

I already tore through Invitation to Anthropology, and I absolutely cannot wait to read The Human Odyssey!

I also went to the college bookstore and got ¾ of my textbooks for the semester.

Needless to say, I am excited to dive into these babies.

Have not posted in a while! My life got super chaotic, but I’m back at it!

First off, I hope everyone had a splendid holiday and a great new years!

I recently got my official grades from the Fall semester, and I’m pleased to say I passed both my honors classes!

And today I registered for my Spring 19 classes! Yay!

This semester I will be taking:

• Introduction to Anthropology
• Human Geography
• Geology of Colorado
• Art History: prehistoric to renaissance

Needles to say, I am excited!

I have not been home for a holiday in over 3 years.

I currently live in sunny California where it is like 75-90 degrees all the dang time.

But today, the last day of my trip home, IT SNOWED! I have not seen snow in 3 YEARS! I am so dang happy right now!

My fall break has officially begun!

Four weeks from today the semester ends. It’s going so fast! And I still have so much to do!

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe fall break!

I thought I would share a book for some of those who would be interested, especially those studying or interested in Anthropology.

Lissa is an ethnography in graphic novel format. It is a powerful story set in the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. It looks at politics, culture differences and similarities, and how American and Egyptian cultures look at and deal with death and disease.

That’s all I’m going to say because I dont want to ruin it for anyone interested.

And, today in my Cultural Anthropology class, we did a Skype Q&A with one of the authors, Professor Hamdy, where the class got to asks questions about this book. It was an amazing experience, she had so much information to share and you could just feel her passion!
